Larry Popeil MD was born in the Bronx and grew up on Long Island until moving with his parents to South Florida in 1974.  He attended the University of Florida for undergraduate studies and Medical School.  He finished a 3 year Residency in Family Medicine at Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center and moved his family to Ocala in 1986 where he has remained in his independent  Family Practice ever since.  He has served on many committees at the hospitals over the years and has held the positions of Chief of Medicine, Chief of Staff and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Ocala Regional Medical Center.  

Dr Popeil is the Owner and Principal Investigator for Magnolia Research Center, Inc which has been performing clinical research for many different pharmaceutical companies since 1999.  He has been involved in numerous diabetic trials for many of the new oral and injectable agents that are now on the market. 

Dr Popeil is married and the proud father of 4 children and 2 new Granddaughters that arrived in 2016!  Two of his daughters are Registered Nurses and graduates of his Alma Mater, University of Florida.  His oldest son attended Stetson and is currently working in NJ for NBC.  His youngest son is currently a sophmore at UF in Computer Science Engineering.  He is very proud of all their accomplishments.
